Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring fibrous silicate minerals.  The six forms of asbestos are: Actinolite, Amosite, Anthophyllite, Chrysotile, Crocidolite, and Tremolite.  Asbestos fibers are strong and flexible enough to be spun and woven and are heat and chemical resistant, making them useful for many industrial purposes.  Due to these properties asbestos has been used in over 3,000 different products.
